  3. This patch improves portability and backwards compatibility. It does
  4. not add any new features. If 7.0 or 7.1 works for you don't bother.

  6.     - Added a note to the README and to the manpages on using the IDENT
  7.     (rfc931) service to detect sequence number guessing attacks.
  8.  
  9.     - Portability: support for the ConvexOS inetd.conf file format.
  10.  
  11.     - Portability: the AIX compiler complained about a declaration that
  12.     was no longer needed.
  13.  
  14.     - Backwards compatibility: some sites depended on leading and
  15.     trailing dot patterns for daemon process names.
  16.  
  17.     - Backwards compatibility: hostname lookup remains enabled when
  18.     -DPARANOID is turned off. In order to disable hostname lookups you
  19.     must turn off -DALWAYS_HOSTNAME.
  20.  
  21.     - Eliminated several false complaints from the tcpdmatch/tcpdchk
  22.     configuration checking programs.
  23.
